Anonymous asked: As much as I loved how Oda showed us just how much Usopp's sniping skills have improved, I can't help but wonder why Law didn't realize who Sugar was or what her powers were. It's been nagging at me for a while, and I'd hate to think that Oda did it on purpose just for Usopp's sake.
I kind of have to agree. Although the math adds up in this case since Law betrayed and defected from Doflamingo’s crew 13 years ago and Doflamingo didn’t take over Dressrosa until 10 years ago, you get the feeling from Law’s character that he’s been keeping careful tabs on Doflamingo’s crew while plotting his revenge and thereby knows about Sugar’s existence, even though she works primarily shrouded in the Underworld. And then of course there’s the context of everything that’s happened in the arc so far; I haven’t been keeping track of which characters know about which tidbits of information, but I like to think Law would’ve been able to effortlessly decipher who Sugar is. In the end, I think it’s a little of both. I guess the appearance of a child can be kind of guard-dropping.
