Anonymous asked: I don't think Sanji losing to Vergo really illustrates his power and shouldn't be used as the only example. Remember, he faced off with Doflamingo and he said Sanji was strong. That's fucking impressive, he was acknowledged by Doflamingo. We've also never seen him go anywhere near his limit post-time skip. So expect more from him! Sanji's not the type of dude to be completely outdone by Zoro's increase in power, he'll show off too eventually
I’m not sure, haha. I think the fact that Law technically one-shotted Vergo made Sanji in turn seem not that strong to me. But yes, I hope Sanji gets a good match-up so we can see him go full-throttle.
Anonymous asked: Sorry about the opinion-hate you guys are getting. I very much appreciated having that post on my dash! I wasn't thinking too hard about why that chapter bugged me and that put it into excellent perspective.
Thank you for the kind words, I’m sure she’ll be happy to read that. Also, I hope you don’t mind us using this response as the last publication on the matter; it’s nice to end on a soft spot. :-)
wafflebob asked: In regards to the power difference ask, I Don't think we've seen anywhere near the level of strength many of the strawhats now possess. Gear 3 and monster point are toys now. Many haven't even shown anything new yet. They're hiding.
I think it’s true that we haven’t seen all their abilities, but in certain cases you can kind of gauge their levels by now. Sanji losing to Vergo forexample is a pretty clear-cut indication if you ask me. For Chopper, personally, I think Monster Point is still the ace up his sleeve. Maybe he can render new abilities with the transformation itself, but I can’t imagine Chopper having that huge of a spike in power to go beyond that just yet.
Anonymous asked: Calgaras is a fucking idiot. Their opinions on One Piece are absolute shit 100% of the time.
Please refer to the ask published before this one as to why you should be least offended by someone having an opinion. As for the nasty behavior you seem to take to from temperament, I don’t know how to fully help you with that, but I would first suggest that you try to chill.
Anonymous asked: What happened to only posting graphics? Why are you only posting opinions from the user calgaras? You shouldnt be doing that youre very biased
I’m not sure where people get the idea that we only post graphics, but that has never been true; this fanblog has published text, photo, quote, link, chat, audio, and video posts relevant to graphics, news, video clips, fan opinions and much more of the series since its conception. We do not only publish opinions of one user; by answering story-related asks we are publishing people’s opinions and our responses to said opinions; and that is just one form of coverage. As to why there are reblogs from user calgaras’s personal blog, that is because user calgaras is an member of this group blog who contributes content, that content mainly being graphics and less than one percent being her personal opinions about the series. And the reason she does that is probably because she thinks it has no harm to people just by being on their dashboards. Because it doesn’t. In its read more form, that reblog takes up less space than a published ask, such as this very one right here. In other words, someone asking something as simple as “How come there’s no One Piece this week?” could very much take up as much, if not more space than her self-written excerpt that contains issues that she feels are well worth discussing. You don’t have to click on it. You don’t have to read it. You don’t have to agree with it. I personally do not agree with all of user calgaras’s opinions, but that doesn’t mean I have to be offended or have any ill-thought whatsoever. It is not being biased, because this fanblog doesn’t operate on a bias basis or any such concept. It’s a fanblog devoted to the series that shares content from all kinds of different opinionated minds.
Anonymous asked: One thing that has been always at the back of my mind is the gap in power between luffy and let's say the admirals/Blackbeard. The war saga was a big reality check for everyone. I can't help but wonder how else luffy can get stronger. Do you think Oda has another gear in stock for us or something along those lines?
Luffy’s plenty strong at this point already. He hasn’t really had a chance to go all-out since before the time-skip and hopefully that will change in this current arc. In terms of admirals, yeah, he’s probably not at that level, but he shouldn’t be yet; that’s like expecting the series to end in the next arc or two. In my opinion, things are running their natural course with Luffy’s power level; if he doesn’t have a Gear Fourth or something amazing up his sleeve currently, then I think he’ll definitely add those to his arsenal soon enough. In terms of power levels, I’d be more concerned with the rest of the crew, except Zoro, probably. Sanji got kicked around a bit in Punk Hazard; he probably would’ve lost to Vergo had they finished their fight and (if I remember correctly) was moderately harmed by one of Caesar Clown’s attacks that didn’t damage Luffy whatsoever. I was really expecting Robin to know Haki at this point too. And it still takes a triple pairing of the weakest members to defeat a rather minor antagonist (i.e. Brook, Chopper, Nami versus Jora )
